Senior Lecturer in Maintenance Engineering at the University of Pretoria, as well as director of M-Tech Consulting Engineers (Pty) Ltd. The teaching post was accomodated in a Chair for Maintenance Engineering.
The direct meaning of my first name "Jasper" is "treasure keeper". Now, this has had a profound influence on my life in that I am protective of any type of "treasure". In particular then, I am protective of assets, and also specifically of the theories surrounding assets.
Unfortunately, the Asset Management field is full of poor theory, and poor terminology.
The short answer is: because I have a passion for the Asset Management field, for the wellness of the organisations engaged in Asset Management, and the people toiling to make them successful.
Presenting a paper entitled "Successful Organisational Development of Asset Management Organisations" at the World Conference on Engineering Asset Management (WCEAM).
My co-presenter is Solly Nkosi, General Manager of DMS Powders, the organisation at which this success was achieved.
WCEAM takes place in Brisbane, Australia from 2 to 4 August 2017
